Trust is the product. Every policy, integration, and operations decision on BASE is built around protecting both sides of the transaction — buyer and seller.
Authentication & provenance
Every high-value listing is verified before going live. Reports are signed by the authenticator and permanently attached to the order. If an item later fails authentication, BASE refunds the full purchase price including VAT and delivery.
Identity verification (KYC)
Sellers complete identity verification before they can list. Buyers participating in reserve auctions confirm their identity before placing qualifying bids. This is what keeps fraud and spam off the platform.
Payments & escrow
Funds are held until the buyer confirms the item was delivered as described, or until the inspection window expires. Sellers are paid out on a predictable schedule with full fee disclosure.
Platform security
BASE is PCI DSS compliant for card handling and follows ISO 27001 controls for access, encryption, and audit logging. We don't store raw payment card numbers on our servers.
