Every high-value listing on BASE passes through a multi-stage verification process before a buyer can place a bid or check out. Authentication is what makes a cross-border purchase from The Bahamas feel as safe as buying in person.
What we verify
Identity of the seller, provenance documents, serial numbers, hallmarks, VIN records, and condition reports. For watches, jewelry, art, and vehicles we cross-check against manufacturer registries and brand-specific reference databases.
How it works
Sellers submit photos, paperwork, and a physical inspection appointment when required. Our in-house specialists and partner authenticators issue a signed authentication report that ships with the item and is permanently attached to the order record.
Buyer protection
If an item ever fails post-sale authentication, BASE refunds the full purchase price including VAT and delivery, and we cover return shipping. That guarantee is funded by the platform, not the seller.
