About BASE242

BASE242 is the Bahamas tourist marketplace. We connect cruise ship and hotel guests visiting The Bahamas to real local sellers — excursions, souvenirs, local products, and services — bookable before they even leave the ship or hotel.

Mission

Put every verified Bahamian seller one tap away from every visiting guest. Excursion operators, straw-market vendors, drivers, hairbraiders, artists, and small producers deserve a fair, direct channel to the millions of tourists who arrive every year.

Vision

A Bahamas where tourism spend flows directly and transparently into local hands, hotel by hotel, port day by port day — with hotels, cruise lines, and the vendors themselves all earning on the same platform.

Values

  • Customer-Centricity: We prioritize creating seamless, satisfying, and trusted shopping experiences that keep customers coming back.
  • Vendor Empowerment: We champion our vendors by providing tools, insights, and support to help them grow and succeed.
  • Innovation-Driven: We embrace cutting-edge technology and continuous improvement to stay ahead in delivering value and convenience.
  • Integrity & Transparency: We build trust through honest communication, fair practices, and ethical standards for all users.
  • Collaboration for Growth: We believe success is shared—fostering strong, respectful partnerships between our platform, vendors, and customers.
  • Excellence in Execution: We set high standards and take pride in delivering results that exceed expectations on every level.
  • Responsiveness & Agility: We listen, adapt, and act quickly to meet the evolving needs of our community.
  • Inclusive Opportunity: We strive to create an open and accessible marketplace that supports businesses of all sizes and backgrounds through growth and progress.

How we're built

Headquartered in Nassau, with vendor verification handled locally and payouts settled to Bahamian bank accounts. Hotels and cruise lines integrate through branded marketplace pages and in-app surfacing so pre-booking feels native — not a redirect.
